buying a road bike (150 cc) in Ghana
 

Hi there,

We are looking into buying a secondhand or new road bike, probably 125-150 cc in Ghana, Accra. The bike should take my partner into... Marocco. Any advices, info on where to buy or the paperwork???

Look on website Ghana HomePage, resource for News, Sports, Facts, Opinions and Classifieds and from Home Page follow links to Telephone Directory/Shops/Motoring Goods/Motorcycle Dealers where you will find details of 37 dealers in Ghana, most in Accra, with phone nos, websites etc.

I won't be in Ghana till November so can't help directly but good luck!

There was a thread here a while back in which someone described their experience doing just this. I never quite grasped what had happened, since they seemed to claim purchase of a new Japanese bike for far less than I would have thought possible. They also bought a bunch of cheap junk (helmets, gloves, etc.) at low prices, and I thought maybe they didn't really know the difference....but at any rate they were last heard from heading north and westward. Maybe you can find the thread.

My more constructive suggestion would be to contact these folks for advice and maybe a helping hand: Home Page . Nice people, locally connected, but not terribly organized. They're in the Cultural Center down by the beach.
