17" Tires in Ouagadougou or Bamako

My rear tire (K60) is nicely spitting off chunks of rubber, I'm now in Ouaga and need a different tire.

If anyone knows of place to buy a new rear, or pick up an old leave behind here in Ouaga, please let me know.

I'll look around tomorrow, and if come up empty will consider making it to Bamako.

Any suggestions as to overlander type places in either city where leave behinds might be kicking about also much appreciated.

Happy New Ye

Sorry, don't have any suggestions (never been to W.Africa), but know that the HUbb search functon is close to useless. However, if you Google

site:horizonsunlimited.com tyres Ouagadougou

and

site:horizonsunlimited.com tyres Bamako

there are a few results that might be useful.

Good luck and Happy New Year
Chris

Thanks Chris. I did use google to search the site but your post reminded me that the spelling of the word tires is different in these parts. A new search with the proper spelling yielded more clues but no answers as of yet, thanks again.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
