Border crossing Eritrea to Sudan possible?

Does anyone have recent information if the border from Eritrea to Sudan is currently open? Or about the security situation there?

And about security in this area?
I've heard there is some problem in Southern Sudan but may be it's not near this brorder.
By theway, another questions: if this border is open, is the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea open? And do you think it's nowadays possible to travel from Addis Adeba to Karthoum crossing this borders without any problem?

Thanks for your infos,

RR.

"is the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea open?"

Absolutely not. Firmly closed with bad relations.

Also Djibouti to Eritrea border is closed too.

Thanks roamingyak for your reply.

I think that border from Djibouti to Ethiopia is open, isn't it?

And what is your opinion about security in Southern Sudan (coming from Ethiopia)?

Hi our name is Roy and Lathoya,

We are currently in Kuala Lumpur, we drove our Honda's from Holland and are considering flying from Singapure to Cape town Z-Africa and then ride back to Holland.
we have some concerns about the safety and boarder crossings in Sudan.
does anybody have some usefull information about the best route to take ore any other information about this matter ?
on the web there are several sites that give out confusing information.

Thanks !

Djibouti - Ethiopia open, no problem in multiple places.

Djibouti - Somaliland open on the coastal route last week when I crossed.

Djibouti - Eritrea closed, Eritrean embassy closed in Djibouti apparently.

No personal experience of South Sudan, didn't sound good so I avoided it, at this stage anyway....
