Border closed?
 

I've heard that the border between southern Algeria and Niger has shut - presumably you can not travel south out of Tamanrasset for the crossing to Arlit and on to Agadez, but, is this just a summer thing - so few travellers, why have border-officials sitting around in that heat doing nothing - or, is it something more worrying, it could mean that its now closed, full stop. Any one with any info?
