Benin to Nigeria At Segbana/Konkoso?

Has anybody managed to cross into Nigeria from Benin from a town called Segbana (approx 95kms SEE from Kandi)? The Michellin shows a road that connects Segbana over the border towards Konkosso, this then seems to end at a town called Rofia which site on the river Niger.

1. Is it possible to cross the border here?
2. Is there customs and immigration posts for both sides?
3. What are the road conditions?
4. Is there a decent ferry to cross the river at Rofia, or do you need to go south to NEW BUSSA to get over the bridge?

If not possible, i will try and use Nikki - Tchikandou.....is the road on the Nigerian side still shitty or have they improved it?

Many thaks for any information, much appreciated.

We crossed at Nikki in a car a couple of months ago.

Border officials were great on both sides. Nigerian guy especially - giving us extra paperwork to help with the police and tips on how to deal with them (no cost).

They've improved the road on the Nigerian side. It's actually quite a nice drive. They haven't improved the cross country route so you have to go down to Illorin to hit the main road (A1 I think). A1 is horrible - Lots of lorries, no other cars and big potholes. The Nigerians we met were pretty surprised we had driven it. Worse than other Nigerian roads we did which weren't great and a big shock after the nice drive from the border! I would try and avoid it if possible.

Nikki - New Bussa - after crossing into Nigeria the road is good for a while, then basically terrible with loads of trucks. Allow 2 days and you must really crawl along. But easily doable with loads of patience.

A report from last week from two couples I know - one in a big MAN truck and the other in a Defender.
