Bamako-Nioro.
Hi there folks. In Ghana right now about to head home to Germany through Mali Mori Morocco.
Can anyone tell me if the road under constuction between Bamako and Nioro is any better than it was 3 months ago? Driving a VW campervan. Thanks. |

Hi Kiddle,
It seems I'm not the only one looking for information on this road. So far I didn't get an answer either, so I can't help you! Just adding to your question. And it seems I'm not the only one heading from Ghana to Europe. Are you gone allready? I'll be going in June/July (rainy season). If you can get me any information after you've done it, I'd be happy. All information I've seen so far is on the dry season. Thanks, Mana |

By the way, how was it 'three months ago?' That was in the middle of the dry season!!

Hi !
We've made Kayes-Nioro in dry season December 2005. The road is all paved, therefore I can not imagine the difficulties in the wet, too. The rest towards Bamako is all improved, situated high on embankment, hard and prepared for paving. Is it so difficult in wet that 6x6 should be involved? I hard believe, but who knows ... I can share the photos of this road in winter, you can imagine yourself how does it look like. Please e-mail me for this. Danek |
