journey to the equator.
Due to our route, I have put this list here and was hoping you could shed a little light on it with any info. specific to these countries.

Have you ever ridden your bikes offr oad with ALL that stuff strapped to them? It seems a LOT of stuff......

I reckon your gonna wish you had left half or most of it behind.

The old Backpackers rule applies: every 100 grams carried feels like a Kilo by the end of the day. Im betting thre gonna be a trail of fishing weigts, waffle irons, and tripods (use a rock, or the bike) across Africa!

though but still have yet to get to the packing part...
glad you like the tattoo....
would be nice if we stuck to that route, it being a tattoo for life and everything...(still a bit scary having one)
any specific bits of info for the east coast

Mike, its like this. HONESTLY 75% of what you have there you will not use.
PLEASE, so you don't have the worst, most miserable ride of your life, trim it down to even less. ( harmonicas and Brai griddles are not essential).
then pack it up.
Then go ride it off road!!!! HARD! then ride it on road HARD.

then go home, chuck away the crap you decide is too heavy and you can do without, then repeat test 1 off road.....

You will be thanking me half way across Africa!

which is why I feel qualified to offer Mike such strong advice.
I can go a couple of weeks on a small holdall sized bag now...

True, true, normally I would let him John.... if it were something small or a local trip, but it looks like this is a trip of a LIFETIME for him & his Dad.

Because I have now received 3 PM's asking what a Doohickey Upgrade is My we have all gone shy havent we?

here it is........ Basically its the Idler shaft.. KLR ones are made from chocolate you see......
