Angola visa

Has anyone recently been issued an Angolan visa from Brazzaville or Kinshasa?

If we get a 5 day transit visa from Matadi is it possible to extend it in Luanda?

Any help will be much appreciated:

Thank you

Hi Waverider!

We heard it is not possible.... we need 6,5 Day,s to cross Angola.

Don't worry to much about overstaying.... we met some cardriver's with the 5day transitvisa ( they need 10day's) without problems!

Greetings Werner

30 days

Thanks for the reply Werner.

We were hoping to spend at least 30 days in Angola so overstaying that long would probably be a problem.

This Angola visa thing is a nightmare!!!!

extension possibele

I met 2 4x4 s in Namibia last week. They both managed to get 30 day visa extentions in Luanda though it was not easy and cost the same 'good value' 60 dollar. or was it 80 ??

How's it going Paul? I just got to Brazzaville after 13 days on a boat from Pokola (near Ouesso). Awsome experience, but too long. We got stuck on a sand bank for a day, had a fire with a man overboard, and i had to step over crocodiles every time i went to the toilet. Heading to Kinshasa and Angola in a couple of days, then quickly through to Namibia.

Hi Sean,
Look forward to reading/hearing about the boat. Im in Windhoek now replacing virtually everything on the bike! Will be in Namibia for another 2 weeks so i might see you?

BTW Matadi to Luanda is a biatch of a road.

Might see you in Windhoek, i'll be there in a week, insha'allah. Did you follow the main road from Luanda to Namibia? (ie the red one on the Michelin map?). I might bypass Luanda, head straight for Namibia. My Taiwanese knobblies should handle any dirt without a problem.
Sean
