Good question!

Everyone is asking that one now. Is your bike older than 5 years?? Not that I know what that means but that is what everyone asks. I suggest you do a search on the site as I am sure this question has been asked fairly recently.
I have a carnet for my trip to sa so not much research done on my part.
Good luck
Orrin

Cars older than 5 years have problems entering Senegal . Bikes dont i took my 1999 1100gs in with no problems but a Dutch guy in a old van had problems but managed to still get in. No such problems in Morocco or Western Sahara (which is ruled by Morocco) altough you do get stoped at regular check point in Western Sahara but i founnd them all to be very friendly & polite. Just dont be in a rush as these guy sit in the middle of nowhere doing a boring job .
Cheers & good luck with your trip if you want to know more you are always welcome to come to the Kent Mini meet that i am trying to organise or i can send you my number & we can have a chat .

One major flaw in your plans - you'll cook - have you looked into temperatures at that time of year? Could you consider doing it earlier/later on?

Sorry, but the border is a one way border, once true you cannot (legally) go back up to Marocco.

ukKev 12 Oct 2007 15:44

Which border ?

I think this thread got a little confused...

If by 'West Sahara' you mean the Western Sahara then you don't need a carnet. The Western Sahara is Moroccan territory.
