Good luck for the Op Terry:thumbup1: Trust in your Guardian Angel (and be very nice to your surgeon too:))
BELIEVE and VISUALISE yourself getting stronger daily - focus your will to ride as this will 'tell' your body to fix itself as you have something important to do. The power of the mind is awesome and still not understood.

After a bad pile up when I was 17 I was told I'd be lucky to be able to walk after some serious damage to my leg- now 53, 6 ops down the line but still riding and walking (although I'd get 'null points' for speed/acceleration or elegance )

I wasn't healing until a fabulous member of the Medical Profession took some quiet time and told me the above- my best friend brought me my trashed bike jacket and I focused on wearing it again- within 3 days healing began as I came out of my 'dark clouds'.

A friend of mine, Matt has his spine wired up with Titanium due to a degenerative bone disease - I suggest you get in touch with him as he rode a 20 year old CBR 1000 from Belgium to Mongolia - his MSN is mattandliane@msn.com
Courage Hubber, when there is a will.... etc!:mchappy:
