scorpions / snakes in Jordan - Syria
 

Planning on camping in Jordan and Syria.
Can we sleep out under the sky or under a tarp? Or should we, with snakes and scorpions around (???), always put up the inner tent and sleep in there?

Off course we will shake anything out before putting a body part in ;-) (sleeping bag, boots, helmet,...)

I was in Syria and never slept under the sky, it is possible, but for 6 months I saw 10 snakes - killers in sand, I think it is a risk.

I camped in the desert this weekend and a very small scorpion walked into our fire. I think they are attracted by heat!
