Medjet for foreigners

Finally, I get to post something that might be useful to others rather then always relying on other's helpful posts or answering my questions!

I have liaised with Medjet, who advised in writing that the Foreign National's policy is no longer available, and Medjet only offer membership for US, Canadian and Mexican residents.

I have spoken with globalrescue.com (sounds as though they offer same services as Medjet with medical evacuation whereever you are) and they will cover UK residents (and likely others), even knowing we are travelling for up to a year. For the two of us membership quote was $1029 for year and can be renewed each year. Although pricey, they claim they will evacuate you for medical reasons at your choice (and to hospital of your choice anywhere in world) providing local doctor deems you stable enough to travel. Could prove to be a cheap flight really... though touch wood we won't be needing it!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
