Wow..

I just a quote for 6 months in S.amercia with those 2 firms

The forst one was 147.00 , the second £517.

I wonder what the differnce is ??

The difference is the value of cover, I went with Harrison Beaumont!!
But some cover is better than no cover!

world nomads say that they are cheaper because they are purely an internet insurance company. This means lower overheads, no agents commissions etc. They are underwritten by Allianz though i think.

WorldNomads - cc assistance

Hi All

I have been trying to find out (without much luck) about what WorldNomads will cover for in terms of engine capacity. I have emailed a number of times and can't seem to get a clear response that they cover up to at least 650cc.

Anyone else having the same trouble, or can anyone point me in the right direction for this? Or even has had confirmation that they cover up to 650cc (I am Australian travelling to Europe and Africa).

Thanks

Cheers

Navigator Travel Insurance

I'm an Australian living in UK, and went with www.navigatortravel.co.uk, paid £560 total for two people for a year, no excess. This insurance is designed for motorcycle touring, and this was specifically written into the policy document for riding on 1150. You may need to be UK resident, but check out the website as I am not sure of this.

Be aware that most insurance companies will not cover you when travelling to the country or region that is against government advice. We ended up purchasing an Air Rescue Card with Travel Assist Network (sorry, don't have the website details) who clarified that they would air evac us for any medical emergency including if it arised from motorcycling (excluding racing for sport), as well as getting us out of the country if it became too unstable, regardless of goverment advice providing the country had not declared war. There are other companies that offer this (including Medjet with link on this site somewhere), extra piece of mind for us but it is up to the individual on whether they think its necessary.

I have been looking into this a lot and have come up with American Express Gap insurance. They cover for 12 months and rates are competitive. Their benefits are above average.

world nomad cover is cheap because the benefits are limited. in the world of medevac you need several hundred thousand dollars worth of cover at a minimum; hospital rates start at about $3k per day and that's before doctors bills and drugs....icu is more. a modest icu medevac is $100k

Hi Guys, if you live in the UK and get World Nomad insurance through the UK office the engine size is limited to 125cc. I found out the hard way in Mexico a couple of years back. Try 1 stop travel, Ive just taken out a world policy for £272.00. Ride safe.
