Chemical/Latin names of medicines?
 

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a web site where I can find the generic names of medicines?

Our trip takes us to places where it is much cheaper to buy what we need, when we need it, rather than spending a fortune here in Germany.

Hmmm, if you wouldn't find a website or anything usable like that, I have a book in wich I can look it up. But then again, this book covers only the meds sold in Belgium.
If needed you can always mail me a question, I will see what I can find.

Try going to the Chemist and copy the "Beipackzettel" - there's always a list with the chemicals that do the job!!!

If you have a list of it in German it will be easier to get a translation I assume!

Or write to the Producer - as far as I know they have to tell you the ingredients!

Try the Orange Book from the American FDA.
It contains a list of commercial names and drug equivalents, though it might be more US specific. Search by commercial name or active ingredient.
