Blood testing round the world

We are about to set off from the UK to Australia.

My wife requires blood tests every 8 weeks as she has arthritus and we need to monitor her blood levels etc. Reading the test is no problem but how about getting them done?

We won't have any problems in Europe or Australia but in other places we thought we would ask the British consulate for advice as to where to go. Has anyone else got experience of this?

Any advice would be welcome

Hi

You probably would be able to get more feedback here if you listed the proposed route.

This would allow members who have travelled in or live in those countries to provide some info.

I always take an IV kit with me when going through remote areas just in case. I would recommend that you take your own needles etc with you just to be on the safe side.

Based on the experiences I have had in Africa and Indonesia w.r.t blood tests, I would expect that you will find this less of a problem than getting them done in the UK.

I think that this has probably got to do with the prevalence of infectious diseases in the so-called '3rd World countries', as a result there is an awareness of the need to test and diagnose quickly.
