Where to get Visa for Yemen ?
 

Hi there,

can anybody give me some advice on obtaining visa for Yemen?

I am currently in Delhi and am planning to head to Yemen via Pakistan, Iran, UAE and Oman.

According to the German Embassy in Delhi it should be as complicated to get a visa for Yemen as it is for getting a visa for Iran.

So: where would be the best place to get a visa for Yemen?

Where do you stay longer in those countries.
Wherever you stay longer apply for Yemeni Visa.
It looks more suitable in Pakistan and/or Iran.

Infact it is not SO easy for a non-muslim to get visa for Yemen. I met two single Spanish woman in Yemen who were there for 2 weeks holiday.
If you have some time, I think you get it.

Personally I will recommend you to not miss it. It worths to wait.

this is of course not really of help for you, but i just wanna encourage you to do what you wanna do.

i got my yemeni visa in ethiopia. no problems at all, straight forward and with 20,- usd (if i recall right) comparatively cheap. and i am not a muslim.

yemen is great, the first impression of oman the same (although way more expensive).

we came the other direction, but here are our infos:

We are now in KL Malaysia and we will not go to indonesia.
We will go in the next 10 days directly to Australia.

Man benoetigt KEINE Einladung etc.!!!!

Besonderheiten:
Bei der Einreise wurde kein Carnet de Passages verlangt und abgestempelt.
Bei der Ausreise am Hafen zur Faehre in den Iran wurde allerdings die Einreise und die Ausreise im Carnet de Passages abgestempelt!!!???

We did all the paperwork one day before we left, it took more or less 1 hour

Wir haben die Formalitaeten schon einen Tag vor der Ausreise erledigt.
Das ganze hat ca. 1 Stunde gedauert

Things have changed for the better. The official word from the immigration authority in Sana'a is that all citizens of Schengen countries get a 3 month visa at the border.

Unfortunately, not all border officials are up-to-date on this, so I only got 1 month and 3 Frenchmen I met told me they had been turned back at the Omani border. If this sort of thing happens to you, smile and explain the rules. Failing that, insist that the officials ring head office. When I went there to get my visa extended I was told that one month was wrong and so they extended it without charge.
