Visa for Vietnam from the land border?

Hi,

Should I get a visa before the trip (for example from Phnom Penh) or have you had any problem to get it from the land border (I plan to cross to Vietnam from Cambodia. Leaving bike somewhere in Cambodia).

I know that finnish passport holder can get 15 day visa during the entrance, but I guess then I should have flight ticket back...

You can get one in Sihanoukville, which if you had not planned to go there is worth a visit in itself.

Two years ago I took a bus from Phnom Pehn to HCMC; I paid $20 for a pre arranged Visa in PP which took 1 day for it to come back; I'm not sure if you can get it on the border

Smile Vietnam Visa on Arrival

At present, Visa on Arrival is just available for people who come to Vietnam by Air (Airplane). If you come to Vietnam by Land (Land Border gate) or Sea (Ship, Cruise...), you must apply Vietnam Visa at Vietnam embassy in advance. You can apply Vietnam Visa at Vietnam embassy by yourself.

Further information read here: https://www.vietnamimmigration.org/

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
