Turkish Elections on Sunday - Travel Ban?
 

Hiya

Ä° am in eastern Turkey at the moment and have just had a conversation with a turkish guy who spoke excellent english and told me that there is no travel allowed this Sunday as it is the Turkish elections.

He actually said that unless you are going out to vote everyone has to stay inside there home/hotel upto the close of polls at about six.

Does anyone else know if this is correct?

Believe me, there is not such a thing. Not even for turkish citizens. That was the case during the counting of population. Unfortunately here they do it the primitive way.

I think that guy is confusing the elections with population counting. If you will depend on that info you will lose a day.
