Late Oct. Early November to late to cross the border? Weather?

Not sure, but I'm doing it. Now heading for Istanbul and going to apply for visas.

Did it in mid/late November. It was too cold.

Got the train from Malatya to Tabriz. It was great, had a comfy sleeper and cost less, for 2 persons + bike than the extortionate Turkish fuel would've been. Lie about the weight of your bike and it costs less coz they charge per kilo and have no scales.

Get your Carnet stamped at the Border by the Iranians or your bike will be impounded in Tabriz.
