Trying to contact La La Singh in Delhi
 

Hi, I am not sure if I have spelt the name right but mr Singh is supposed to live in Delhi and to have been very helpful to previous travelers passing through. I am going to be in Delhi in about a week and would really like to get in touch.

i used lalli to overhaul and ship my bullet to the usa in 2003. a most professional job. he takes great care and pride in what he does there.
i paid us$500 to have the crate built, the bike shipped to bombay and loaded onto the ship and delivered to miami. took about 2 months from when i left delhi to when customs notified me to come and get it.
only had to attach the front wheel, charge the battery and add petrol and it started on the first kick!!
i would use him again in a heartbeat.

You can have a Carved Cabinet for that money! I;m sure 500US included something more or is an spelling mistake, Nope? It included all in that sentence? , I hope. As I read it it sounded like the most expensive of crates!

yes, all included for 500. the crate, shipping and all.
no problem getting it registered. ( i dont have 8 posts yet!) they had a little trouble reading the old numbers on the engine but they got it. you must make sure the bike is older than 30 years to qualify as an antique. or else you'll need an import license. thats only $50,000!!
i have had it now for 5 years in florida and all is well.
your biggest trouble will be getting the bike registered/titled into your name in india.probably fake documents would work as no one in usa will have a clue as to what the real thing looks like. but, when i applied in fla, i had to send my indian title to tallahassee(state capital) and it is gone. there is no way to get it back ever again. i made copies for myself though.

How old was your bike? I mean which year of manufacturing?
I recently exported a bike for a friend from New delhi to seattle. It costed about 400 USD.
