Traveling from Iran to India through Pakistan by small motorbike

Hi
Me and my girlfriend we are going to travel from Europe to India on a small motorbike.
We are wondering how is the situation between Zahedan in Iran and Quetta in Pakistan.
Is it safe?
The last information that we gathered said that it's not advisable to be on your own vehicle.
Any of you pass through recently?

Thanks a lot

It's probably not the safest regions in the world these days. But you have basically 2 routes from Europe to India, and this is the one, that does not require to get into China, which is a PITA! And nobody can guarantee your safety, but at least there seems to be travellers coming and going between Iran & India frequently.

I did it last year. Iran was very welcome and felt very safe. It you want my advice, fly your local flag. A lot of people assumed we were Americans and there's a lot of hostility towards them. Once they knew we weren't we were made very welcome. Towards the border things do change. There's a lot of distrust. Aim to get off the road early, while it's still light and give time for being processes. I recommend staying at Zahaden because there's only a tiny hotel further along and he over-charges. Stay at Zahaden and leave early. You'll get a police escort to the border. Once you cross you're a movie-star. You'll get swamped but it's very well meaning. They're just curious. You then face an escort all through Pakistan. Deal with it, it's annoying but you don't have a choice. They're there for your safety and they're generally decent. The terrain is harsh so you face some danger there but take it easy and you'll be fine. You'll most likely be blown away with the hospitality. It's unlikley you'll make Quetta in one day. The process of waiting for escorts severely slows you down. Make small jumps. The food is bad. You'll get sick. There's no way to avoid it. India is far, far more dangerous. The roads are the worst I've ever seen, the driving is insane, stupid and aggressive. People aren't generally welcoming and hygiene is non-existent. People think Iran and Pakistan are more dangerous but India is a secret death-trap. In reality you're more in danger from your own stupidity. (No offence, we fell foul of ours a few times). Take plenty of water and fuel into the deserts. Give yourself time for breaks and take early stops. Don't take chances. Ride slow and easy in India. Let the escorts lead the way in Pakistan and you'll be fine. It can be dangerous but you shouldn't face anything life-threatening if you keep your wits about you.
