tires/bike shop in Chaing Mai or BKK (Thailand)

Hi mates,

can any of you recommend a bike shop in Chiang Mai or Bangkok?
We have to do some small repairs + we are in need of new tires for the Himalaya-part of our trip.

tire size: 130/80-18 and 100/90-19
semi-offroad tires are preferred like Mitas E07, Heidenau K60, Duro or something simular. no nobbies!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers

Panny

OK, here you go

N13.74231 E100.51282

He speaks good English, and brilliant Thai ;) This shop has been working here 40 years and it shows in the speed and professionalism in their work.

The best part is the price, one price for locals and Falangs,

Check with these guys for Chiangmai addresses for tires. There's a KTM dealer there as well. Not sure which tires he has in stock but he can get parts from Bangkok overnight.

Hi Jeroen,

good to hear that you made it through Java-hell!

Thanks for the advice: I know both.

Thanks for all replies!

German Joe is Chiang Mai´s number one from my point of view. But he´s usually totally booked out.
He has sent us to G3, which turned out to "solid". Good work!

Since nobody in Chiang Mai could get any of my favorit tires, I gave it a try in BKK with not much more success. Ended up with a Pirelle MT90 front and one Michelin Anarkee II front, which is okay but not really what I desired for the Himalaya.

Here are two usefull links for finding workshops etc. in BKK:
