Service and tyres for BMW GS in Delhi?

Hi, I'm beginning my RTW in Kathmandu in a couple of days. I think I will need to get new tyres (more Continental TKC 80's would be nice) and probably do a minor service around Delhi.

Does anyone know a dealership for BMW bikes around there?

Cheers,

Akira

Akira,

IMHO you will be lucky to get any tire in Delhi. I had to organize a 21" tire last year and it took a while (but got it in the end in Delhi). It is extremely difficult to find 21" and 17" tires in southern asia AFAIK.

However, the guy who organized it in the end did claim to have some experiences with (old airheads).

If you need assistance, I could try to find the adress of that shop in Delhi. Also, I know someone who knows a thing or two about airheads in Lahore.

Will take some time though.

Lars

Tyres and service possible in Delhi

Hi

We found a small firm that actually import foreign bikes and service them! We also didn't believe it until i saw a 1100GS and R6 being serviced side by side. The guys helped us with shipping and a swiss couple with tyres.

CONTACT DETAILS:

Kaulson Racing

Vijay 09810083030 OR Vinod 09868177799
They are two brothers who run the company - really helpful for us

Another useful contact is

Bobby 09910419727
He knows where to get anything in Delhi (hes an HONEST taxi driver!)

Please mention Bill and Becky and their BMW bikes so they know where you got numbers from

Regards

Sweet- thanks to you guys

That's to all for your replies. I guess Kaulson Racing is it! I've copied the info to my online notes and that's where I'll go.

Sorry for the late look-back - Kathmandu has been a real blast and I've been spending a lot of time today with two RTW riders, bending their ears (= asking a lot of questions).

Thanks,

Akira
