RE: RE:Thai insurance - forgot to get it at the border

Hi Nathan,

Often there is no one selling insurance at boarder crossings, you technically you cannot ride / enter Thailand with out insurance!

Often they will ask you to buy at first insurance company you pass. A suggestion may be made as were to go & it may be well be some ones cousin!

I paid last year for min government insurance for R80 BMW (800cc) @ 650B, all insurance companies do this insurance for the same fixed price!!

But you must take the bike for them to see, it exist & any paperwork, you have i.e. import papers so they get your name & bike details Wright!!

If you need any help or would like to drop in, I have plenty of room & like to cook..! You can bring the ; wine or sprit as longs there’s plant of it

I'm in Chiang Mai, north Thailand, my Thai mob No. +66 (8)70701238, I get told off when I give out my email on this site but just post reply, I have inter net & work from home.

Ride free, Ride Safe,

Rik

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
