There is a BMW dealer now in Beijing. They have a website: www.bmw-motorrad.com.cn

Don't know of any dealers for other bikes.

G'Day,

as of today BMW is the only official bike manufacturer present in PRC with bikes. PRC registration / license plates are a different issue.

Harley-Davidson has an representative office since 0ctober 04 in Shanghai and we had the official Shanghai launch on 30th.April 2004 during the inaugrual PRC MotoGP.

the HD shop in Beijing is a "fake" Harley-Davidson shop and not authorized by Harley-Davidson.

HD / KTM both going through the painfull process of getting approval to import bikes into PRC, again... you will be able to purchase bikes but license / registration issues... TIC = This is China!

best regards, seeya in the pub or on the road....

so there are no japanese bikes available in china? i heard that you could get some pretty cheap ones in tianjin and that beijing had a couple of shops that dealt with yamaha and honda.

G'Day,

yeah, there are Jap bikes available on the "grey market", mostly stolen in Japan / Hong-Kong / Australia. no official Japanese "big bike" bike dealerships as of yet.

on of the Ferrari / Porsche dealers in Shanghai has legally imported a Yamaha 1800cc Wildstar / Yamaha R1 and they go for around 18000RMB (approx. 23000US$) and no license (registration) available in Shanghai.

ooops! forgot yesterday, Ducati has an clothing outlet in Shanghai and they have three Ducati's on display. don't know about the bikes... for sale or display only?!

best regards, seeya in the pub or on the road.....
Butch

ps; most bike registrations (license plates) on the "grey market" are fake! be warned!
