Hi Paul,

I shipped my bike from Dili to Darwin about 2 months ago. I wrote a process how I got my bike shipped to Process to get bike from Dili to Darwin | Where is Hemuli?
It is easily doable by you, so I would not pay to anyone (it is expensive even without any other payments).
You can get a bed from Darwin for around $30/night (hostels).
I was told that the reason why Dili shipment is so slow in Darwin side is due to all material need to go through quarantine inspection. They said that due to this reason Singapore shipments are much faster.
Things can go wrong and delays might appear, so you just need to be flexible :)
