Parking in Kathmadu

Hi all: Does anyone know of a good place (locked, secure) parking spot in Kathmandu where I coud lock up my bike (with panniers) for two months? As well, I was thinking of renting a bank safe to leave my laptop in as well as some other goods. Possible?

Most of the guest houses round Thamel will happily let you leave your bike parked with them - have done this several times while I have gone off trekking.

Just make sure you find one with secure parking - several around with courtyards and a guard on their gate...

You can also leave luggage with them, so I just leave a bag with them containing laptop and other shite I don't want to carry up a mountain.

Is the bike stamped in your passport? If it is you may not be allowed to leave without it.

I'm staying in the country, but planning a trek for 40 days.
