india to nepal + visa's

Hello !

First off, does anyone know if there is a website where I can get a 6 month multiple entry visa for india ( I'm canadian) I'm currently in Oman and they only issue maximum 3 months. If not... is there anyway to extend my visa once I'm in the country. I will be there for a maximum of 5 months.
Also I would like to go to Nepal in April-
1. would I be able to extend my indian visa while in Nepal?
2. can an indian plated bike go into nepal and what is the current cost?
3. Can a Canadian get a visa on arrival at the border..? If not where is the best place to apply.
4. what is the best border to cross over with a bike.

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!

Hello Rosiegabrielle and welcome,
I cannot help with the Indian visa question, the answer seems to vary from one nationality to another and I am a Brit.
Yes an Indian registered bike can go into Nepal, I have seen it posted that there is a small daily fee and a limited number of days but also that you can go straight in with one without any fee or restriction, Nepali customs are very relaxed so it might vary from one entry point to another. It is some time since I entered from India but the eastern crossing near Darjeeling was good, the lady in charge on the Indian side gave me chai and the Nepalese chap gave me cucumber dipped in chilli all of which made for a pleasant crossing.
A Nepali visa is availalbe on entry.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
