Shipping bikes from Goa to UK

Just wanted to share the love and let everyone know about a shipping agent I used for shipping my bike from Goa to the UK. I used a chap called Mathew Dias who owns an organisation called Lynn Packers & Movers.
His details are:
E-mail: matslynn@sancharnet.in
Tel: +98 832 244 8587
Mobile: +98 22123967
It was a very reasonable price - it worked out at around GBP500 per bike (there were two bikes (both R1150GS - so pretty big - I guess it'll be cheaper if your bike is smaller)) and it took about five weeks to get the bike back to the UK. Mathew sorted out all of the paperwork, including getting my carnet stamped, collected the bike from where I was in Goa and packing of the bike. The bike made it to the UK in one piece and when I picked it up I was able to see the crate he'd made which seemed up to the job. While I wouldn't necessarily say that the crate was the most robust in the world (!) it was strong enough to allow a bike which has been through a considerable amount between leaving the UK nearly a year ago to reach the UK without any other extra dents!
Anyway, if you need someone to ship a bike and you're in Goa then Mathew's the man!! It seems he also can help with shipping Enfields out from the UK to India as he does alot of this type of work.
Any questions drop me a line.

Question Shipping Goa - Denmark

Hi everyone!

I've tried to mail and ring Mathew (hope you're reading this Mathew...), but no answer. My friend and I need to ship our two bikes incl. alu-boxes home to Denmark before Jan 30. We would love to do it from Goa, so we don't have to ride back up to and spend time in Mumbai instead of .

So: does anyone have Mathews contact information or mayby know of some other shipping companies here in Goa that can help us out??

Thank you all so much and happy new year where ever you are!!

Best regards, Simon

Hi Joe,

We did get through to Mathew in the end ( E-mail: matslynn@sancharnet.in ), but at that time we had already ridden to Bangalore to ship from there.
After about a week of paperwork etc. the bikes should be on the way home and we're enjoying the last 2 weeks of our trip in Gokarna (much better than Goa, if I must say).
Anyhow - Mathew should be able to help you if the bike has a Carnet. Just send him an mail. Good luck

Simon

Thanks Simon,
Who did you use to ship out of Bangalore ?
and can you give an idea on price.
I am in Bangalore at moment heading south to
Tamil Nadu then into Kerala, so Bangalore
would be good.
thanks

Hey Joe,

We used a danish freight company called DSV (formerly DSDF).
From DSV - Global Office Locator :

DSV
705, Oxford Towers,
6th Floor, Airport Road
Kodihalli
560008 Bangalore
India

Tel.: +91 80 30 77 67 00
Fax: +91 80 30 77 67 01
E-mail: aiblr@in.dsv.com
Website: www.dsv.com/in

Its been working out quite well so far, although we haven't been given a price yet. I'll post it as soon as we do (hopefully soon). They sorted out the carnet, packing of the bikes and customs clearance.
