Not sure, I know of some people who have had terrible problems gettin Indian visas in Pakistan and vice versa. We are doing the same trip but picking up our Iranian vias in Turkey (already arranged and granted) and getting the India and Pakistan ones netx week from London.

Hi there,

We met two bikers who were refused a Pakistan visa in Iran last year, so we got ours in Ankara, Turkey. We had to have an interview with a guy inside the embassy and had to get a letter of introduction from our embassy. It took us two days from start to finish, with a lot of waiting around.

We got our Indian visas in Islamabad, Pakistan in december last year without problems, but we have heard of other people who have had difficulties but only with having to get there really early (like 5am) to get put on the list for that day. They do take a week to process from there though. The problem with the Indian visa is that it starts from when you get it and not from when you enter the country, so if you get it too early you have less time there - if you're not too bothered about the whole 6 months, we know that Ankara Indian Embassy also issue visas that take 1 week. We found the staff were really helpful and friendly in there, but they advised us to go to Islamabad if we wanted the whole 6 months. Maybe you could pop in and check with them on your way if you are passing.

Not sure if you have an Iranian visa yet or not. They can take time and be a bit of a pain. We used a company in Shiraz who were recommended - they sort out all the stuff for you and let you know when your visa is ready to pick up at an embassy of your choice. I think the service cost about $20 each, but you don't have to pay them until you get to Iran: we just popped into their office in Shiraz. Their web site is www.keytopersia.com or maybe .co.ir.

Happy journeys.............. jim and lisa

As jim'lisa said the Indian visa starts from the date of issue - so it makes sense to get it in Pakistan. No problems getting one in Islamabad - takes about a week but you don't have to leave passport with them so can go up the KKH and pick up visa on your return. They normally only give 3 month visas there but if you ask nicely the will give you 6 months.
I found it much easier to sort out Iranian visas in London before leaving - pretty straight forward but time consuming.

apparently, it really depends on your nationality and then you have to adapt to know precisely in which country you might have the best chance to get a visa.

i got my iran visa in bishkek (kirghistan) lucliky.
i got my pakistan visa in tehran (iran) quite luckily.
i got my india visa in france. it was possible to get it from pakistan.

in islamabad i met a few people at the tourist camping site, coming from india or coming from iran, waiting for visas for iran/pakistan, a bit stuck with no solution for a few days.

see other posts on the hubb

Has annybody got a visa for Pakistan in Iran recently?

We have the following problem: We are from the southern part of Germany so the Consulate at Frankfurt wil be responsible for us. But they do not give out visas for anny overland travelers.

The embasy in Berlin which is responsible fpr the northern part of Germany does, but keeps telling us (quite unpolitely) to get to Frankfurt.

So we also know that the Teheran Embasy does not give any Visas to Foreigners.

But as we got our Iran Visas in T rabzon easily, which is also somehow "against the rules" we hope to be more successfull in the Pakistani consulates in Mashad or Zahedan.

So we would like to ask if annybody applied for a Visua there? (wether its been successfull or not...)

Impossible. You have to arrange Pakistan visa from your home country. It is forbidden for Pakistan commissions to give visa to non residents. So do it in Germany.
