New Tyres in Phnom Penh

Hi, we are in Phon Penh and I do need some new tyres for my Africa Twin, actually I need a back tyre. 140 80 17. (Best would be an Anakee or actually anything would do) Any idea where I can ask? There are some big bikes arround in town, I saw actually a Africa Twin on the way.

Thank you all and have fun and a safe ride.

cheers

Sascha

Tyres in Phnom Penh

Try Bernard at the Bike Shop on Street 302. He should be able to help. +855 12 851 776. He has an Africa Twin in his shop for sale at moment.

Alternatively try Mark & Craig at Precision Motorcycles in Tuol Kork +855 97 8851 102. If they don't have it they know a guy, Turner, who brings in bikes from France. He's got a couple of Transalps and an Africa Twin in his place at the moment.

I'd personally avoid places like Daras. Have tried a number of local mechanics around town and they always end up screwing things up. All apart from one guy. Who was able to do some work on one of my bikes, Moto Guzzi. He doesn't speak English and his shop isn't easiest to find though.

Good luck.

Okay, sorry didn't join earlier.
Worth taking a trip to Bernard for a service if your bike needs it. He charges $15 ph. He's okay. French guy, been here for years. He can hire bikes out if you wanted some reasonably well maintained wheels whilst your bike off road.

There's a Cambodian guy who's partnered with a Swiss bloke on St 130 - just a block or so from the riverfront. He's got some bikes imported from Switzerland. Couple of BMWs, Suzuki VStrom. He had a Triumph Tiger too. That's one option for others coming to Cambodia - rather than import your own or pay one of those tour companies thousands for an escorted tour - buy a bike and leave it with one of the reputable shops, like Bernard's Bike Shop, to sell for you after you leave.
