India or Pakistan, Spare parts shipping

Hello,
I drive a Honda Transalp 650, Type RD 11, BJ 2006. I'm coming back from Tokyo to Cologne. Unfortunately I have my K & N filter after 100,000 km in the Japan exchanged for a paper filter. This is now heavily polluted by 20,000. I have from 2000 m power loss and increased fuel consumption. I would therefore be to send a new air filter from Germany to me.

I'm in Pokhara, Nepal, and will enter in a week in India. No later than 22 june. I must of Amritsar, India to Lahore, Pakistan, to enter.

My question is, where should I have to send me the air filter?
For Amritsar nearly 3 weeks have little time.
Are there any experiences with the delivery to Pakistan or Iran?

For a quick response, I thank already now.

Think DHL

If you need to have an air filter sent out to you, then I would consider DHL Express Service.

There is a DHL Service Point in Pokhara: DHL Express Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (Branch Address) - Pokhara Branch, New Road, Pokhara, Kaski, Nepal|Sodhpuch

Hours of Operation
Sun - Fri: 09:30 - 17:30
Sat: Closed
Holidays: Closed

An air filter for a Transalp is a light-weight item, therefore shipping costs should be affordable.

If you need a contact in Pokhara, then consider approaching Matt at Hearts and Tears Motorcycle Club. Matt is a very friendly Australian guy, who could not have been more helpful to me during my time in Pokhara.

An alternative to Pokhara might be New Delhi, India (if you are going that way to Pakistan.) I can let you have an address of a trusted friend in Delhi, who I'm sure would take delivery of a DHL package on your behalf. Collect it from her when you get there.

Or you can collect your package from any convenient DHL service point in India along your planned route going forward: DHL | Country Profile | English

best

Keith

There are specialized shops for auto filters in Pakistan and finding one for your bike shouldn't be a problem. I am sure comparable air filters would be available in Delhi too.
You might consider cleaning and washing it with petrol until you get a new one.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
