Manali - Leh Road
 

Anyone done this in the past fortnight? I'm hopefully going to do this in the next week.

Interested to hear about road conditions / temperature etc. It sounds like its a bit late in the season to do this (therefore a bit chilly), but the roads should be open.

Leh to manali
 

Im in manali at the moment and have just completed the journey via leh and srinagar. The road is 80% tarmac and is never very difficult there have been some blocks but the army promise to keep it open until end of september.
It is a suprerb trip and shouldnt be missed. manali to leh is 3 aesy days or 2 long ones the journey to Srnagar is worthwhile or turn round and se it the ther way.
Raid de Himalayas is on the 1st week of Oct ober and they do Leh to Manali in one hit on the last day 485 kms of rough riding...Hardcore
