Is a K12 Suitable ?

Can anyone who has recently travelled across Turkmenistan, Kazakstan and Uzbekistan give na indication on road conditions out there ? Last year I took a BMW K12 around the Black Sea and found no problems but I am more wary of taking it to the "Stans".

From personal experience I know Georgia and Azerbaijhan should be ok and while I don't want to buy a Dual Sport bike for no reason I don't want to have a torrid time on an overweight tourer if the roads really emand a dual sport !

It would be fýne! Problem ýs low octane fuel ýn Uzbekýstan. Roads are bumpy, and the polýce would want to look at the býke every checkpoýnt. ps ýn Istanbul now.
