Pakistan Biker's Club

Are any members from the Pakistan Biker's Club on Horizons. I'm trying to post on the site for some assistance in renting or purchasing a bike for mid-Sept bike I can't seem to get access even after registaring. Any assistance on this would be appreciated.

Thanks
CTB

Hi CTB,
I thought I gave you the reference of Richard with experience of renting a bike.
Please stay in touch because renting/buying shouldnt be a problem ie if you can drive a 125/150 cc bike.

Regards
Omar

Pakistan

Hi Omie - yes I finally did contact Richard who informed me of a rental place in Gilgit called Hidden Paradise. I believe this contact was made after my inquirery about the Pakistan Bikers Club. Since then I've also been in contact with a couple of gentlemen, one from Karachi and one from Multan who were helping me with information. It’s fantastic when a site like this can help you reach out to like-minded people around the world for information.

I think at the end of the day one can glean only so much info. from posts and emails and most of the discovery comes when you hit the ground. At this point my employer is assessing the flood situation in Pakistan to determine if the trip is a go or not. I’ve also heard that the KKH is closed (from a posting on this site) and thus am concerned whether this is the best time to be biking around Pakistan or not.
What’s your take on this?

Thanks
Christopher

I just returned from my unsuccesful trip to North Pakistan. In early August the flights werent operating, KKH and the Babusar route were blocked so I took my chance with my bike. I couldnt cross the Burewai stream because of its broken bridge. Those road blocks on the Babusar route are now open and temporary bridges are operational.

This information is important because if the road is not open then you will have to rent the bike in Gilgit and miss the beautiful drive.
I would agree with you that the final decisions should be made at the spot.
Come along, you'l love it here.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
