Getting a carnet on a Nepali registered bike?

I am currently in Nepal and hoping to buy a bike and ride it through Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran etc. towards Europe.

I have read on these forums that people have had success getting a carnet issued on a Nepali bike but I am having trouble finding somewhere that will. There is no issuing body in Nepal.

If anyone has had any luck achieving this or has any advice it would be appreciated.

you need to speak to Matt at Hearts and Tears... he arranges Nepali carnets on Nepali bikes...

not trying to garner business explicitly for them but i've seen the attempts first hand and its a minefield...!

I'm not entirely sure about that, I know he used to help people who were buying the bikes directly off him, but were the CDP's Nepali ?

I got a CDP for a Nepali bullet in 2012 from the RAC in UK on the basis that no CDP was available in the country of registration (Nepal).
As an aside, you will need an NOC from your embassy before you will be allowed to register the bike in your name in Nepal.

Yep my bad, apologies carnets are not Nepali but from other countries

I believe that Matt from Hearts and Tears can organise a carnet for you, but there is a fee for the service. From memory, he organises CDP's through the Swiss AA - I'd suggest getting in touch with a few AA's in Europe and yur home country, and explaining that you have a Nepali bike that needs a CDP, but that there is no AA in Nepal. If you have no joy, go see Matt

Thanks guys. After a lot of searching I think we've finally had some luck with WIAA in India. It seems like none of the European AA's will issue them to foreign countries at the moment. I never got a reply from the Swiss AA but once we get to Pokhara I'll check with Matt and see if he has applied for any recently.

yuo dont nead a carne yuo can go whid aout one i have done it 3 times last time whas in 2010 whid one indian jeep and 2 times one indian endfields all yuo nead is a no upjection certificat in pakistan the dont care in iran same thing drive to the bourdear and maybe yuo have to whait four 2 days before the leat yuo go but it whas no problem in 2010 the leat mea leve aftear 2 day one may one risk so what the heal just goooooo
