Iran & visas
 

Hi,
I am now planning a trip by car that should include Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan Russia, Belarus and Easter Europe countries.

I'm seeking info on:
1)where to get the Iranian visa on the way (greece turkey), how long ot should take and which type of visa I can axpect to get (transit or tourism).
2)Ex soviet republics visas. Can they be delivered in Tehran to a swiss pass port holder? Are ther other options on the way. And again, which type & how long.
3) Turkmenistan. Has anyone gotten through since the assassination attemp lately? How is the situation and how is the mandatory guide story doing?

I'm planning a similar trip from Samarkand to Italy, by motorcycle, this August-September.
Which lately assassination you mean?
The info I have are that Turkmenistan is a rude but quite safe country.
