Insurance Thailand
 

Hi,
My Temporary Import Permit runs out on the 4 th of January, yesterday got an extension for another month. I expected to spend a few hours at customs but was in and out in 45 minutes. Here's the glitch, I have insurance with Safety Insurance Public Company, went to the head office, they don't sell insurance there and nowhere in Bangkok.Looks like they have compulsory Insurance that comes with registering the bike, same as Australia. I was told to go back to the Thai/Malaysian border to get another month.
Can somebody confirm that I can pick up insurance at the Thai side of the Friendship bridge, I'm sort of heading that way.I'm hoping to get out of Bangkok tomorrow.

I got Insurance from AIG office in Chiang Mai, should be able to get it in any of their offices. Cost 645B, it's for a year as that's all they would do, but at least it's cheap!

I must be a Red Tape Magnet. I'll try them in Ayuthya, Bangkok's just too difficult to get around. If you see an old fart on a red BM, Oz plates, flag me down.
