India - Train from Delhi to Mumbai
Hi,
I only got a short period of time for India & would like to visit a friend in Mumbai. To save some time & mileage, I'd like to do one long leg by train. Either Delhi to Goa or Delhi to Bombay. Has anyone got any first-hand experience with this? Which train station in Delhi, costs, timings, paperwork involved, etc? Cheers Bjorn

I spoke about travelling around India with a friend here a while ago. The quickest way between cities is by plane. India has budget airlines like we do in the UK. Check out - KINGFISHER Airlines KINGFISHER Airlines SpiceJet - Low Cost Indian Airlines, Book Indian Flight Tickets Online, Cheap Fares Air Travel in India - SpiceJet offers Discount Airline Ticket Fares Online Though this would of course mean you would not have the bike with you (could be parked up somewhere?), depends what the goal is... hi,
did the way from Goa to Delhi this year in march. Costs were about 1000 IR (fare + needed insurance) for the bike and 500 IR for 2nd sleeper. I had to be one day before departure at the trainstation in Madgoan. Bike will be wrapped, costs about 200 IR. Station in Delhi was Nizamuddin ~ 30 hours. wish you a nice journey ;-)
