Parts and Mechanic in Bangkok

Hey
Anyone got a line on a reliable mechanic and a parts source for fitting of a new clutch on our honda CT110 postie bike in Bangkok?

Special tools (that I dont have) are required to fit a new clutch. Should be the same needed for the Honda wave's and hero's...

Havent been able to source a 428 O-ring chain yet... Available in Thailand?

Short of fedexing the parts from home, anyone know of a place that may have these parts in stock?

Thanks
N+A

I believe they get most ´original´ parts from Singapore or Japan.

I talked to Siam Superbikes shop in Pattaya (Sukhumvit Road) and
they said they´d be able to order stuff from Singapore, if I wanted.
Aftermarket filters, etc., can be found from off the shelf in Pattaya,
but I doubt they will have any real spare parts, except for the kind of
bikes or scooters that they´ve got there a lot, like Honda Waves and Yamaha Nouvos.

Even in Johor Bahru (Malaysia, right next to Singapore) I had trouble finding the ´original´ oil filter for our Suzuki,
(finally did manage it in the end, going through probably 90% of the bike/scooter shops in town), but they all said they get all that stuff from
Singapore.

Still I´d probably first try to fix it locally, they are very good in finding ways to
get vehicles moving again, and work their way around even without special tools, etc, with extremely small budget & resources.
And if Honda Wave´s got similar parts, that sounds promising. But maybe you´ve already tried that.

If you´ll absolutely need new parts, I´d probably try to get connected with someone, who regularly orders
parts from S-pore, that might come up cheaper than fedexing from home.

Thanks Pecha

We are estimated to arrive in Bangkok for Newyears so will have to find a mechanic and ask around there. Planning to fly to India with bike in late January so will need some luck to get everything done in time.

Have attempted to plead my case to 3bike shops so far but due to my non existent grasp of Thai my efforts have been fruitless to say the least.
More so since the bike appears (to everyone else) to run fine.
Im in the process of trying to work out myself if the CT110s clutch plate dimensions relate in any way to the common bikes available in Thailand.
Its a difficult connundrem with having the actual part unremovable in the bike and not in my hand to help my explanation.

Will look online for parts in Singapore now.

Thanks

Thanks so much Bert.
All great leads.
We don't have a GPS (We dont even have a decent map!) but will try calling around by phone.
I wonder if any of these shop staff speak english?
I think asking for an O-ring chain is the easiest thing to get across over the phone so will start from there.
Cheers

You're welcome - it's what H.U is all about mostly.
I have since found this- Loads of info / parts/ mechanics/ tyres etc - some do speak Brit
here

Hope you find what you need - Good luck
To save your legs - whatever accommodation you're staying in you might ask one who works there to do the ringing around for you- Save time and hassle and give a local a wee job too !
