can any one tell me if i need a carnet for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand, any other info would be handy. Many thanks Skip

a carnet is NOT necessary for travel anywhere in latin america contrary to what the RAC (who sells the expensive carnet) will tell you. i traveled there a year via motobike with no issues.

obviously you need the title docs to the bike which clearly list the VIN # on the frame AND motor (which can, frankly, be a color photocopy of the original), your passport and your DL (which can also be a cheap, laminated copy of the original)

talk to people who have toured on country before spending wads of cash on the carnet.....dont talk to the people who sell it!
