buying/renting in china-pakistan-kyrygzstan
 

Hi there,

My girlfriend and me just sold our bikes afther allmost a 4month southeast asia tour and now we are heading towards China, kyrgyzstan and pakistan. unfortunally not with the bike but we are considering the fact that we will probably miss a lot having our own transport. so who knows what is available in these countries? what kind of small bikes do they have over there? is possible to buy/rent/ drive over there? enfin, any info is welcome... note that we are not thinking of crossing borders there, just rentng or selling aftherwoods..

There is a motorcycle market in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I saw reconditioned, road ready Urals with sidecars for sale as well as any spares and parts you can think of. First asking price for a motorcycle/ sidecar rig was $US 400. Also, I know a guy in Kyrgyzstan near lake Issik Kul who has a 1970's Police Ural and sidecar rig with very low milage in excellent condidtion that he will rent. I will have to dig a bit to find contact info, but he does have e-mail. Sent me an e-mail or PM if interested.
