buy motorcycle in iran or turkey - Horizons Unlimited

we dont have any experience in motorcycling, but we want to drive with a motorcycle from iran or turkey to switzerland.
please help us: where is it possible to buy a motorcycle in iran or turkey, how much does it cost, what kind of papers and insurance are needed. what kind of motorcycle(s) do you require (for two persons, with cardriving-licences).

Most probably you can't buy proper motorcycle from Iran because they have cc-forbiding law for local motorcycles, that's not more than 200cc. And most of the brands circuling around there are unknown - for "western people".

So i'd recommend searching MC from west-Turkey, Istanbul's bike shops and markets. Make sure you have decent tyres on them if panning to go to Iran - you usually can't get proper tyres from there, most probably have to use some expensive DHL/Fedex etc for tyres if you need them fast in Iran.

I am sure that Turkey is better than Iran for buying bike. I have also read about the cc restriction in Iran. Anyway. Let me help you then. I don't like put my nationality in front, but in this issue it is useful to do it so. I am Turkish

So, I may suggest you some desent advices. There is a site, a Turkis ebay site: the address is www.sahibinden.com I've just checked the site and found an BMW R1150GS.
