i think the borders are all closed, not sure

I'm pretty sure the border at Lahore is open to independant travellers. India just stopped trains/buses etc.. I will be heading that way early May.

Yes.. still open according to British Foreign Office.

The Amritsar/Lahore border crossing is open to private vehicles so you should have no problem crossing. I've recently met 3 people who came the other way and had no problems getting through Iran or Pakistan. Apparently once the Pakistanis realise you're not a journalist they welcome you with open arms, even in Baluchistan.

Glad to hear that Harvey!

If anyone will be going though Baluchistan towards India around... 20th May ..I would be very glad to hear from you (or I shall be on my own)

I am currently in India, heading for Nepal and then back into India before making the crossing to Pakistan sometime before 25th May when my Indian visa expires.

I have heard from several sources that the border is open to private vehicles.

Regards,
Graham.
