Boat from Magadan

Hi

Does anyone know if there is any car ferry from Magadan to Vladivostok? Is the road open from Yakutsk to Magadan? I'm in a TLC.

hi,

sorry what is a tlc ?

I have been in magadan about two weeks ago and I sold my honda there.

yes, there are boats to vladivostok - but of course not a ferry.

go down to the port - end of ulitsa portova - and you will end up very soon in the directors office - like I did.

I had some trouble with visa and registration. and after selling the bike I took an airplane to vladivostok.

the road between yakutsk and magadan is in one part (maybe 50kms) very bad and there are no bridges. you will have to take a boat on the river Aldan, but no problem.

have fun

Where you have to take a boat to cross the river. Is the boat capable of taking a vehicle or would it be limited to motorcycles. Oh and a TLC is a Toyota Landcruiser.

Since it sounds like there are some authorities in the know on this thread... I want to ride from California to Alaska this summer and then air freight over to Siberia and ride to Moscow. Is there a road from Anadyr or Vladivostok to Moscow? If not, is there another city you would recommend air freighting to that has a passable road to Moscow? I keep hearing stories about having to put my bike on a train for part of the way. I prefer a route where this is not required. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

hi,

ah, you are in a car. no problem you will have to take the boat on the river for about 24 hours, it is not just a river crossing. but kamaz trucks take the ferry, no problem with a toyota. I dont remember the name of the small town now, just talk to truck drivers and they will show you on the map.it is maybe 300km east of yakutsk.

in a 4wd the road is not that difficult, I think, but drive carefully as the road starting from the sign post to the magadan oblast is bad. take food and fill up at every petrol station.

about airfreighting a bike from alaska. magadan airlines has regular flights to magadan, but as I said the road is very bad.

better would be vladivostok and than maybe take the train from skovrodino to chita. but if you are a good rider and riding an enduro you can also ride the bike from skovorodino to chita, but I have never been on this strech, so ask other people about roadconditions.

email me direct for more informations
