Bike insurance for India
 

Can anybody recommend a company where we can insure UK residents with UK registered bikes for India. 3rd party or comprehensive welcome.

We are currently in Delhi. We have tried The New India Assurance company, which seems to be government tied, and a couple of private companies. It seems we cannot insure a bike unless it is registered with the Regional Transport Authority in India, and cannot do this if we do not reside in India.
Also tried a couple of UK companies, Carol Nash and Bennetts.

We are going to Nepal next before returning to India to see the south of the country. Can we get insurance at a Nepal border on returning to India? Which one?

We really dont mind whether we find a UK, India or other company. We hope to be in India 2-3 months so would like to try and get the minimum 3rd party insurance.

Please, any suggestions welcome.

I picked up some insurance it cost 900 ruppes 3rd party only that included india & nepal for 1 year. BUT when they printed it out they had to hand write over that the bike was a BMW and the cc was 650. The biggest details they had where for a Royal Enfield 350cc. so i'm not sure how good it will actually be.
