Simple enough request, ive got to pick some visas up in Delhi and have the delight of staying there for a week or so.

Is the campsite still open??? or do i have to find a guesthouse???

Thanks for the help

Delhi

Hi, same predicament. Going to Smyle hotel on Thursday as they say they have bike parking, its near Kharol Bargh and the embassy area, the photos look ok (but they always do dont they) and its 460 rupees a night (google it, they've got their own site)

I can tell you if its any good inthree days if you want ? What visas are you up for ? I'm just waiting on my Iranian one now  and trying to keep positive

Fantastic...sounds good to me, but ive googled it and there are loads of Smyle Inns hotels guesthouses etc.

Could you give me a better address please??

Ill be in Delhi in about 4 days, so it would be nice to have a beer and if Smyle Hotel is ok, let me know and ill meet you there.

The Majors Inn in Pahganj has been shouted up on the Hubb before but im not sure. Its in the LP guide.

Im after my Paki and Iranian Visas and a pair of tyres...

Hi,
I posted a few comments about accommodation in delhi not long ago.
If you are riding in India on Bullets you're probably becoming experts at what to avoid in India.
Just in case it helps here it is.

The place I stayed last, three or four weeks ago, is the Wongdhen House at Manuj ka Tilla. 375Rs with bathroom, 24h hot water. Clean. Breathable air. And has a very good restaurant. It's some way out but on the bike takes about ten minutes to Carol Bagh. No specific parking for bikes but the place is in a narrow lane in the Area where the Tibetan refugees reside in Delhi. I left my bike near the door for a few nights and no one bother it. I wouldn't leave it overnight in the streets of Delhi.
All weighed, the best place I stayed in Delhi in my four visits.
Hope it helps.

Hi Tim,

Welcome to Smyle Inn (India): Neat, Airy and Clean Rooms; Best value for money I'll be there from Thursday until I get my Iranian visa (already have Pakistan), so proabably 'till Christmas !

There are dozens of 200-600 rupee hotels in the main bazaar in Paharganj (which as I said is handy for Karol Bargh and the emabssies), I just picked this one as they seem to have a gated bit round the back where you can lock bikes (everywhere else seems flush to the pavement/alley).

If you're coming from the east (railway station end) of the bazaar, it's down an alley on the right about 300 metres along the bazar. Last right before the mosque (there's no sign on the alley).

From Birmigham ? I'm heading back to Rugby........small world.

stay in touch

Pete
