Thanks for the GPS help Peter. Ahem, yes, my tappets are now sounding less like a bag of spanners falling down the stairs and more like a DR should do!

Made it up to Mae Hong Son, nice ride up here yesterday.

Hello Thailand

Peter and all,
While the KTM and Landcruiser remain in Cairo, the Mrs. and me will escape the baking crazy heat of Egypt for the damp sweaty heat of Thailand for the month of July.

Would be good to bump in to any HUBBers.

Thinking of coming straight to the N and hiring a vehicle, was thinking of a car on the assumption that it's going to be too rainy for a bike. Any advice from those in residence?

JT

sangklaburi - um phang??

hey peter,
just wondering, is there any road going from sangklaburi to um phang?
we're now at the burmese border and thinking of heading north.
or, do we really need to ride back to kanchanaburi and from there north?
thanks

Sorry, I have been out of circulation for most of last week. Spent some time in hospital, fever again and again they couldn't find anything beyond a bronchitis.

Well, there is SUPPOSED to be a dirt road - AHEM - when I tried it in the dry season I drowned my bike and PC in the first ford I had to cross. You need a light bike and a better map than what I had. Wouldn't dream of attempting it during or after the monsoon.

I can see your bike from the balcony of the other building, but I haven't seen you yet.

Cheers,
Peter.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
