Quick question, rather than take the big bike, with all the gear, do they rent small scooters in Cambodia?
Here in Laos Iam paying $7 a day for s scooter while my bike is being fixed, so I am thinking do the same there and no need to wear all the gear? Cheers TS |

Too late now but thanks. I ended up riding my own bike when I needed to, but yes, I did rent one in PP but only used it for that city

For all those who are planning to do Angkor on rentals: it's illegal for foreigners to rent in Siem Reap, Battambang, and many other places in Cambodia. The official reason is that traffic is just too bad in those places, and tourists would certainly wreak major havoc. My theory is that some local politician's cousin or brother has a Tuk Tuk business or drives a taxi and the ban was installed to ensure a constant influx of tourist money because it's clearly bullshit. You can legally rent in Phnom Penh where traffic is 10x worse than in the rest of the country and nobody give a tiny rat's ass about your well being when thrown into the living hell that is Cambodian driving ;)
