750's for sale in China
 

I have been living in Hefei for 5 months. I am trying to bring my 3 750cc Bikes from Australia.

I seem to have made the links and contacts but I want to sell 2 of them here.

One is a Honda K7 750 1977 in great condition. The other is a Kawasaki GPX 750 approx 1986 also in great condition.

If I can get them here and have them registered legally, I will put them up for sale.

My contacts should also be able to assist you to obtain a legal driving licence if you have a legal licence in your own country with some years of experience.

Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one of these bikes. I expect to have them here between Feb and May 2005.

lets assume you get your three bikes into PRC (Hefei), will you be registering the bikes *legally* in Hefei (Anhui Province) or somewhere else?

in case you register them in Hefei (Anhui) kindly remind your buyers that they cannot LEGALLY be driven outside Anhui province.

Buyers Beware! there is a interprovince travel ban in effect since 2001 for PRC registered bikes and your only legally allowed in the province your bike is registered.

Driving License, interessting topic, to obtain a PRC Driving License, you need a valid PRC Green Card (Foreigners Resident Permit) and an overseas Driving License (motorcycle license). all the other "under the table" documents are just big BS and you will find out once your involved in an accident.

Thanks for that info, I realise there are many restrictions and BS to be overcome.

You are correct about everything you said and of course these must be considered.

I intend to stay in China for many years and will not get involved in anything dodgey.

However, there are ways of getting things done legally if you have the right contacts who know the processes. I think I have these as they are organising this stuff for me. They are investigating the process for the buyers of my 2 bikes to make it easier for them as well. It is not available for anyone else.

Importing bikes into China
 

Are you still here in China, I am working in Wuhu, in Anhui province and seems like I will be here for the next 18 months. would be interested to meet up sometime.

I might be interested if you still have the bikes/bike in May. I would also be interested in doing business with your or any other legitimate contacts who could arrange for a bike, legal interprovincial plates, insurance, ect and perhaps an easy way (if such a thing is possilble) of acquiring a temp. Chinese drivers permit.

My bike was impounded by Beijing customs last August when I tried to bring it into China on the Trans Mongolian train.

I'm currently trying to get it out and shipped to Vancouver, but it's proving difficult, mainly because it hasn't been officially imported in the first place!

Can either you or your contacts help me out?
